Laws are great but they're meaningless if not being enforced. I have yet to see a golf cart pulled over 😂

Never seen one with a seat belt lol

What’s the new laws about dirt bikes and go karts on the highways nothing said about that just wondering see it often?

You can’t tell when sc new at something 🤣

I wonder if Golf Carts that were made without seat belts will be grandfathered in? And, just what is considered a "Seat Belt".

lol this is hilarious because more kids drive them then adults. Y’all ain’t about to go give all these rich kids tickets, it’s just not gonna happen.

Or how about use them in golf courses. Seems fitting. V

How about ones that were driving down alice drive last week turning onto paperbirch. No adults!!

Does this mean golf courses with golf carts that cross roads must be registered and have insurance?

Next will be airbags.

What about ATV’s and UTV’s?? If you let golf carts on the roads are you going to let everything else on the road?

I’m waiting for a new law for bicycles to require seat belts, lol

Well please patrol my neighborhood..kids on it all the time

Ridiculous…and I don’t even own a golf cart. More government regulation…just what SC needed.

Please patrol my area- Keels Rd , Joyce, Hidden Bay, Lens Heaven to Loring Mill!

So, who will be enforcing these laws, because in my area behind Sumter High, down Shallowford and those streets, none of these laws are being kept.

Are they allowed on sidewalks?

Start enforcing this!

Fantastic. More laws 🙄

Please start enforcing your own traffic laws before worrying about golf carts. People drive lawlessly at high rates of speeds, disobeying traffic laws your officers see it and do nothing.

Nanny state

Helmets? Jay Bradley

Golf carts are meant for golf courses not roads period

I sure see a lot of underage drivers by Wilson hall

Seat belts.... People ride their babies around in their Laos in all communities

If you want to get high and forget about the heat, go stand in the Walmart Parking Lot any time of the day!! 😡 It’s all over the place!

Keep it cool….
The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for Tuesday until 8 p.m.
High temperatures combined with humidity levels can be potentially dangerous.
Be aware, take steps to prevent heat-related illnesses and look out for others, both people and pets.

CALEA Accredited

Being a Police Officer in a CALEA Accredited Department means you belong to an agency that is committed to following best practice standards developed by federal, state, and local law enforcement executives through comprehensive research. This is one of the most successful methods for reaching administrative and operational goals, while also providing direction to personnel.

The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA) was created in 1979 as a credentialing authority through the joint efforts of law enforcement’s major executive associations:

  • International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP)
  • National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE)
  • National Sheriffs’ Association (NSA)
  • Police Executive Research Forum (PERF)

SPECIFICALLY, CALEA’S GOALS ARE TO:

  • Strengthen crime prevention and control capabilities
  • Formalize essential management procedures
  • Establish fair and nondiscriminatory personnel practices
  • Improve service delivery
  • Solidify interagency cooperation and coordination
  • Increase community and staff confidence in the agency
