It's a football night in the Gamecock City!
If you plan to attend the Sumter High School games this season or other school district athletic activities, please remember that rules -- including a clear bag policy -- are in place for students and all attendees to follow:
🏈ALL elementary and middle school students (K-8th grade) must be accompanied by an adult 21 years old or older. This is for admittance and during the game. No students can be dropped off unattended.
🏈 Students will not be allowed to congregate anywhere in the athletic facilities. Unless they are in line at concessions or using the restroom, the expectation is for students to be in the bleachers enjoying the game.
🏈 Clear Bag Policy: Any bag brought into the athletic facilities must be clear.
🏈 ALL visitors must enter through the visitor side and remain on that side during the entire competition.
🏈 ALL Sumter School District middle/high school students MUST have their IDs to enter the competition.
🏈 No re-entry will be permitted. Tickets are non-refundable.
🏈 All Sumter School District facilities are alcohol/tobacco free.
🏈 Anyone caught smoking or vaping will be asked to leave.
🏈 No running, horseplay, or verbal/physical altercations are permitted.
🏈 No loitering inside or outside the athletic facilities are permitted.
🏈 Individuals who violate the alcohol and drugs policy or are involved in an altercation will be banned from athletic events for the rest of the school year.

Keep safety in mind and enjoy the game!

On the original post from the district page these rules have been in place since 2019, and it mentioned all District schools

All this to attend a football game. πŸ˜’

Does this include student with medical needs who needs to carry supplies? I’m gonna purchase one when I can just double checking

So who is gonna enforce these said rules?

Only Sumter high mentioned??? Do we not have 3 high schools??

Just talked to his mother, he has been found!

I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for returning my boy home. You did go above and beyond to find him, as I know you are very busy. He has twin daughters that are 8 years old that would love to have their daddy back. I will be forever grateful β€οΈπŸ™♥οΈπŸ™

CALEA Accredited

Being a Police Officer in a CALEA Accredited Department means you belong to an agency that is committed to following best practice standards developed by federal, state, and local law enforcement executives through comprehensive research. This is one of the most successful methods for reaching administrative and operational goals, while also providing direction to personnel.

The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA) was created in 1979 as a credentialing authority through the joint efforts of law enforcement’s major executive associations:

  • International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP)
  • National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE)
  • National Sheriffs’ Association (NSA)
  • Police Executive Research Forum (PERF)

SPECIFICALLY, CALEA’S GOALS ARE TO:

  • Strengthen crime prevention and control capabilities
  • Formalize essential management procedures
  • Establish fair and nondiscriminatory personnel practices
  • Improve service delivery
  • Solidify interagency cooperation and coordination
  • Increase community and staff confidence in the agency
